Regional Awards

The Greater Northwest Regional Awards program is designed to encourage and award participation in the activities and events of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. 

Judged On-Site:

Di Braun Achievement in the Visual Arts:  (drawing, sculpture, painting, pottery, photography, multi-media)  This award recognizes creativity and inclusion of the Honors Study topic set forth by Phi Theta Kappa International.  Honorable mentions may also be recognized.  Entries will be submitted at the Spring Conference.  (3 recipients)

Judged by Popular Vote

Chapter Newsletter:  This award recognizes excellence in chapter newsletters.  Creative and artistic appeal, practicality, and information included will be considered as voting criteria.  Newsletters will be displayed on-site and submitted upon registration at the Spring Conference.  The winner will be decided by popular vote of the general membership, one vote per chapter.  (3 chapter recipients)

Chapter Yearbook: This award recognizes excellence in chapter yearbooks.  Refer to yearbook information from the International Headquarters for guidelines for putting together a yearbook.  Yearbooks will be displayed on-site and submitted upon registration at the Spring Conference.  The winner will be decided by popular vote of the general membership, one vote per chapter.  (3 chapter recipients)

Most Congenial Chapter:  This award recognizes the chapter who demonstrates the best Phi Theta Kappa spirit during the year at official regional meetings.  Selection is by popular vote at the Spring conference, one vote per chapter.  (1 chapter recipient)

Other Recognition

Coordinator's Special Recognition:  Recognition can be given at the discretion of the Regional Coordinator to persons who have significant contributions to the growth of the Greater Northwest Region.  

International Awards / All-USA Academic Team Members:  Individuals and chapters of the region who won the above awards will be given special recognition at the Spring Conference.  

Regional Officer Recognition:  The outgoing regional officers will be presented with a plaque recognizing them for their individual contributions to the region through their leadership, scholarship, fellowship, and service.
